Our Sad, Sad Times

I was having a chat with a student today at Touro during our Business Management class about the Israel rally last night in which we were outshouted and outnumbered by the Arab counter-protestors. He unequivocally stated that this was a good as we must be passive and submissive to the goyim. He said that if we try to show Jewish strength and might, that causes antisemitism. He continued, saying it was good that we were outshouted because if we outshouted them and made a strong show of Jewish force, that would make them want to kill us. As if they didn't want that now.
He brought a moshul and cited "rabbis" who said that the reason that the Holocaust happened is because the Jews tried to rise up in German society. He reasoned (based on the rabbis) that we should have lived in the shadows there. His reason is that we don't have a navi in our times.

Hashem should help us!

  1. So...just saying apparently dying a blissfull lie is better than living with the painful truth.
Maybe it us precisely because of the holocaust that we have to make sure to prevent it from happening again.Actually throughout Tanach are countless wars.Especially the Neveim.I mean Dovid Hamelech ...
One can't be silent in the face of the unspeakable.Anti-Semitism it's already there.Umm being silent did not prevent the holocaust neither did being naive save lives.Just saying.Silence is not the answer neither is submission
